It’s been a hectic time for me lately. People have been away, there’s been a lot of work to do & of course Christmas is coming.
This years Christmas party took place on The Thames, from Tower Hill to the Thames Barrier & back again on a fantastic tall ship called the Artemis last Thursday. Tower Bridge even opened for us on the way out & once again for our moonlit return.
It was fancy dress & the theme was pirates, providing me with the opportunity to imitate Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, for which I won the prize for Best Dressed Pirate. Yippee!
The whole event was top-notch. As we set off Andy was playing his accordion which we all drank mulled wine. There were many sights to see by stepping onto the deck if you wanted to take a break from the 7 hour session.

I don’t remember getting off the boat or walking to the pub afterwards, but what I do remember was the incredible coincidence that Vince – who had left about 30mins before me – managed to get the wrong tube home forcing him to make some changes & then end up on the seat in front of me. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I can only imagine how it must have looked to the other passengers who could see me, a drunken pirate, to then be joined by a 6′ parrot.
Now that’s a quality ending to en evening.
The pirate look suits you mate…I think you should get one of these T-shirts:
